African football stars have joined Muslims across the world in marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Morocco captain Medhi Benatia,

Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure,

Ghana’s Michael Essien

and Algeria’s Sofiane Feghouli

are among the continent’s  players who took to social media to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

This global celebration is the feast that marks the end of the 30 days of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

African players took time off their preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to wish their fans Eid Mubarak and celebrate with their loved ones.
