President Goodluck Jonathan will tomorrow lead other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Osun State to drum up support for the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Other notable members of the PDP expected to join President Jonathan  include, Vice President Namadi Sambo, senate President, David Mark and the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu to the state.

Others expected in the entourage of the President are the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih, Prince Kasamu Buruji, Governor-elect of Ekiti state, Dr Peter Ayodele Fayose among other prominent leaders of the party in the country.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Bola Ajao while addressing a press conference in Osogbo yesterday disclosed that the essence of the President’s visit was to promote the candidature of Omisore.

Ajao, who noted that all necessary arrangements had been made by the party to ensure that the President’s visit is a worthwhile one stressed that necessary security measures have been put in place to forestall breakdown of law and order during the visit.

He however warned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to steer clear Osogbo city stadium, venue of the campaign rally, just as he warned them against sweeping the venue of the rally after the President might have left.

The PDP spokesperson noted that “it is common with APC members to sweep the venue of the PDP rally whenever the President visits any state, but I want to warn them not to try it this time around. They should keep all their dirty brooms in their homes.”

Ajao maintained that the President’s visit to the state would further boast the chances of Senator Omisore and the PDP in the forthcoming election.

According to him, security operatives had already been deployed to the state in preparation for the President’s visit, saying that “it is normal that security operatives are deployed ahead of time to any state where the President wants to visit.”
