Lampard returns to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea boss

Chelsea football club, have announced former midfielder Frank Lampard as their new technical manager on a three-year deal.

The 41-year old, who played for the Premier League side between 2001 and 2014, succeeds Maurizio Sarri, who left Stamford Bridge last month to take charge at Juventus.

Lampard joins his former club from English Championship side Derby County.

“I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach,” said Lampard.

“Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared. However, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead.

“I am here to work hard, bring further success to the club and I cannot wait to get started,” the English nationalist states.
