ABUJA, Nigeria -                               The attention of President Muhammadu Buhari has been drawn by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) following the ministerial nominees he yesterday submitted to the Senate, the council hopes Buhari has  more youth to serve in his cabinet as he rightly promised during his 2019 presidential election campaign.

The NYCN, said the council is currently studying the list which contains the names of ministerial nominees sent to the National Assembly by the President.

In a statement signed by the NYCN president, Oladele Nihi, the council said it was reviewing the list to confirm if the president kept to the promise he made to Nigerians during his campaign.

Nihi said it hoped a youth will emerge as Minister of Youths and Sports Development as the past minister, Solomon Dalung, who is 55-year-old did not make the list.

He said:” We are reviewing the list to confirm if the president kept his promise, he made during the campaign leading to the last general election of more inclusion of youths in his cabinet.”

Adding that anything short of a youth emerging as the minister of youth and sports development will be rejected by Nigerian youth.

Recall that President Buhari on Tuesday, July 23, sent a list of ministerial nominees to the National Assembly.

The list sent to the National Assembly had 43 ministerial nominees on it including the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio, Rotimi Amaechi, Sharon Ikeazor, Gbemi Saraki, a younger sister to the past senate president among many others.
