Nigerian Falconets held their Mexican counterparts to a draw at their opening match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.

Mexico dominated the first half of the game with their fast paced football and shocked the falconets when Fabiola Ibarra found the back of the Nigerian net with a superb strike in the 23 minute.

The falconets rose up to the challenge and stepped up their game after conceding a goal and Osarenoma Igbinovia, the Nigerian striker levelled the score line at the 42nd minute and the game ended in a draw.

England and South Korea also drew 1-1 in the other Group C match.
