Former Head of State, Abdulsalam advises Nigerians to be brother’s keeper

The former Head of State and Ambassador for Peace in Africa, General Abdulsalam Abubakar GCFR has advised Nigerians to be brother’s keeper so as to ensure peace and harmony in the country.

General Abdulsalam GCFR, disclosed this at the 459th Inaugural lecture of the University of Ibadan where Prof. Mohammed Kuta Yahaya of the faculty of Agricultural Science delivered his inaugural lecture titled “Voice for the Voiceless Hungered Angered”.

Speaking with CEOAFRICA, the former Head of State said “The embracing of Prof. Yahaya shows that University of Ibadan is for all Nigerians and as a result of which the need is for all of us to be our brother’s keeper and ensure that there is peace in the country irrespective of whether we are from the North, South, West and East. The fact should remain that, we are all Nigerians”.

“I think we should learn from the lecture delivered by Professor Yahaya because, the topic and its recommendations would be impactful to the development of our dear nation”, he said.

While commending the University of Ibadan for giving the Niger state born professor the honour to serve them, the Ambassador for Peace in Africa said “I thank the University of Ibadan for giving Professor Yahaya the honour and privilege to serve them. This really shows that University of Ibadan is for all Nigerians”.
