President Goodluck Jonathan on sunday congratulated Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on his electoral victory.

The congratulatory message was conveyed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President applauded Osun people who came out in their large number to exercise their civic duties, the Independent National Electoral Commission and national security agencies were also commended for ensuring that the election was free, fair, credible and peaceful in line with the commitment of his Administration.

The president in his congratulatory message assured Nigerians that his administration is committed to ensuring a free, fair and peaceful conduct of the election in Nigeria

The statement reads: “The outcome of the election has also given the lie to the false, unfair and uncharitable allegations that measures put in place by the federal government for the Ekiti and Osun State elections were partisan and designed to achieve a favourable outcome for his party.

“As Governor Aregbesola prepares to begin a second term in office, President Jonathan looks forward to continuing to work with him and other state governors to further improve the living conditions of Nigerians in Osun and other states of the country.” It stated

He wished Governor Aregbesola continued good health and a successful second term in office.
