The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has on Wednesday pledged its commitment to end sexual and gender-based violence in the territory with the support and intervention of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (ROLAC) programme of the British Council.

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, made the commitment in Abuja when a team of ROLAC paid her a courtesy visit in her office.

She noted that gender and sexual based violence have become a troubling trend in the nation’s capital and other parts of the country and require urgent policy and social action.

She thanked other partners for their collaboration to end gender and sexual based violence in the country.

“We all must do our part to create a safe space for our citizens, our families, especially our children. It is therefore an honour to communicate to you the strong pledge of the Federal Capital Territory Administration,” she stated.
