4 killed as PDP and APC supporters clash in nasarawa

There was serious fighting in nasarrawa state on Monday which left four people dead and several others injured.

According to an eyewitness, trouble started on Monday, 18, when PDP supporters took to the street to cheered their member representing their constituency in the state Assembly, Hon Sidi Bako, who with other PDP members absconded from their constituencies from the start of the ongoing impeachment saga against Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state.

The eyewitness stated that the cheers did not go down well with APC supporters who also took to the street to counter the PDP supporters

 Trouble was said to have started based on the clash between APC supporters and PDP supporters leaving a PDP member with a severe cut on the arm and was immediately rushed to Sandaji Hospital in Lafia for treatment.

A source informed newsmen that men of the Joint Task Force, JTF, were deployed to the area to curb the crisis and prevent further escalation of the violence.

However, the crisis did not go down well with Eggon youths who could not avenge the injury inflicted on one of their kinsmen allegedly by a Gwandara youth on Monday reportedly took the vengeance to the farms where they killed four Gwandara indigenes on their farms.

Some residence have denied the fact that the fracas is not an ethnic issue but a political crisis and would soon be resolved.
