WIMA NIGERIA ORGANISES WEBINAR TO CELEBRATE THE 6TH AFRICAN DAY OF THE SEAS AND OCEANS

The African Women in Maritime (WIMA) Nigerian Chapter in commemorating the celebration of the 6th African Day of the Seas and Oceans celebrated every July 25th yearly, will be holding a webinar on Wednesday July 29th 2020 with the theme “Innovation For A Sustainable Ocean.”

The webinar which is billed to kick start by 11am will be attended by key dignitaries in and outside the Maritime Industry namely: Captain FerozMostafa, Shannen Hassan Sabbir, HajiyaHadizaBala – Usman, Princess Vicky Haastrup, Mrs Dabney Shall – Holma, Prince Dr. OlabodeAdetoyi, and Miss Sandra Okoli.

The webinar will be moderated by Mrs Jean C.Anishere, the Continental President of African Women in Maritime (WIMAFRICA) while the Chief Host is Hajia Bola Muse, President WIMA Nigeria. The event is poised to highlight the importanceof sustaining the blue economy in the face of COVID 19 pandemic currently ravaging the world and indeed Nigeria as a nation.

Recall that the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union, declared July 25th as Africa’s Day of the Seas and Oceans in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 2015, in order to foster increased wealth creation from Africa’s seas and oceans by urging African Member Statesin which Nigeria is one, to develop a sustainable thriving blue economy in a secure and environmentally sustainable manner, and WIMA Nigeria is actively fostering that agenda, through the able leadership of Hajia Bola Muse, President WIMA Nigeria.
