An unnamed church has called on unemployed Nigerians to apply for the post of prayer warriors in its organisation.

Many Nigerian churches are known to have people whose primary work is to pray for the church and its members - they are popularly known as prayer warriors.

However, they are also members of the churches they attend and not sourced from outside the church.

For this unnamed church in the Aguda area of Lagos state, prayer warriors are wanted from anywhere, as published in a post that went viral on the internet.

According to the poster, successful applicants would be expected to pray from 7:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the evening.

The unnamed church also stated that the salary of successful applicants is well above N30,000. Interested applicants have been encouraged to call the numbers in the poster and also send in their applications.

 In a separate story, The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Sunday, January 26, debunked reports which claimed that the church had the highest number of single ladies among all churches in Nigeria.

The church said contrary to the report it conducted over 150,000 weddings through its singles ministry, GEN 218, in the last decade.

"It is an exciting and vibrant ministry, attracting singles from all other denominations since its inception. It was established by our role models," said the church.

A statement by the MFM spokesperson, Collins Edomaruse, showed the weddings had been conducted based on the scripture in Genesis 2:18.

“It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him," states the scripture.

He also said that the false assumption that the MFM had the largest number of female singles is baseless, erroneous and very misleading.

Edomaruse also said that the church has a distinctive and well-structured youth movement where the youths of the ministry under the leadership of the general overseer have distinguished themselves as leaders in the fields of academia, music and sports with laurels to back this up.
