Long-serving advisor to President Donald Trump, Kellyanne Conway yesterday announced that she will step down to focus on her family.

The fifty-three-year-old Conway has been a faithful worker of Trump who managed his 2016 campaign that shot Trump into the world’s most powerful office. She also expressed her loyalty to Trump by defending him on TV and with informal “gaggles” with the press, having taken a toll.

It was gathered that her husband, who is a prominent Washington lawyer, George Conway, is a prolific critic of Trump as he, recurrently questioned Trump’s mental fitness for office.

Additionally, Conway’s 15-year-old daughter Claudia on Saturday wrote on Twitter that she was unhappy to see her mother speak at the Republican convention, and pledged to seek legal emancipation “due to years of childhood trauma and abuse.”

In less than 24 hours after the message from her daughter, Kellyanne Conway tweeted a statement that ended thus: “For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Conway has said she would step down by the end of the month and that her husband George would also be making some changes as she wrote:

“We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids.”

Conway, who is a lawyer and pollster by training, said her departure was her call thus:

“This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans.”
