As Nigerian celebrates her 60th Independence Anniversary, the Founder and Board Chair of Partnership for Women Empowerment Realization (POWER) Mrs Obioma Liyel-Imoke has felicitated with Nigerian Women, Friends & Family across the country on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of our dear country.  .

The wife of the former Governor of Cross River State made this known in a goodwill message she signed which was made available to CEOAFRICA.

She thanked the almighty God for seeing us through thus far as nation most especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.

In her words, Founder and Board Chair of POWER stated: “As we all know the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the global equilibrium and has turned our lives in a path that is new and very unusual for us individually and as a people, most especially for women because we are the heartbeat of our nuclear families and therefore our Nation.

“As usual we have set goals and made plans and all seems to have ground to a halt because we seem to have no certainty about tomorrow.

“Learning and adapting to this new normal, getting used to our now as against our usual has taken a strong ounce of flesh out of us.

“But we are Nigerian’s and Nigeria is us. We are resilient we are tenacious, we are courageous and bold. We make the impossible look possible because of our positivity and our inner strength. My message, our message from all of us at POWER today is stand strong, be focused, Knowing that God has not brought you this far to leave you.

“It’s time to hold your head up and give it your best. It’s time to look out for people with like minds whom you may join hands and hearts with leveraging on each other’s strengths to build up ourselves and to excel”.

She urged all women to believe in the power of unity and partnership as this is the road to the future.

Speaking further, Obioma said “Nigerian Women have a ‘can do’ mentality. We are the definition of the slang ‘no-shaking’ so let us uphold each other today and always. Let us evolve through this like the trojans we are. Our success mantra at this time should be support, unity and partnership to enhance our abilities and capacities. Developing innovative solutions to what we as women are experiencing now with an outcome of success should be our focus.

“So it behoves on us to painstakingly curate the pathway to and for our survival and I assure you that our tomorrow and that of our immediate family, our society and our beloved nation Nigeria will be better.

“So to all the women out there holding homes together holding jobs or employing & paying staff for services, working to put food on the table - It’s a new day and a new opportunity to excel. May the Lord bless us and bless Nigeria’s new age”.
