UN Director, Badejo to speak at Chrisland University World Food Programme today

ABEOKUTA- Wednesday April 28, 2021: The Deputy Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, Mrs Adeyinka Badejo-Sanogo, is to speak at a day symposium organised by Chrisland University, Abeokuta, today, Wednesday.

 Badejo-Sanogo will be speaking on the World Food Programme: A Link Between Hunger and Conflict, by 3pm to 5pm, at the University’s auditorium.

The Chief Host of the day symposium is Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University.

CEOAFRICA gathered that Adeyinka Badejo-Sanogo is the Deputy Country Director for South Sudan United Nations World Food Programme.

She joined the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in September 2001 as a Programme Associate.

Prior to her assignment in South Sudan,  Adeyinka served as Representative and Country Director  of  WFP  Office  in  Cote  d’Ivoire  from 2016—2020, managing  a humanitarian and development portfolio in support of 154,000 people.

With nearly 20 years of experience with WFP, Mrs. Badejo has held various operations and management positions in Afghanistan, Côte d';Ivoire, Italy, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe,  with  extensive  travel  to  support  various  corporate emergencies in Pakistan and Somalia.

Her area of work includes humanitarian assistance, food security, nutrition, education and social protection programmes, with a particular focus on child development and women empowerment.

The Deputy Director of the UNWFP has a double bachelors’ degree in sociology and economics from the University of Massachusetts, USA, and earned a master';s degree in economics at the University of Toledo, USA.
