CEOAFRICA.com gathered from South Africa that a woman has been arrested for plotting to kill her two sons as part of a life insurance scam.

According to a police statement released, the 50-year –old woman approached a relative and told him to help in killing her sons for about $2,400, but the relative, who was recently released from prison, reported her to the Police.

Police Spokesperson, Col Jay Naicker explained that the motive for the attempted killing was that she wanted insurance money because she had insured her sons.

The woman, who lived in the south-eastern town of Port Shepstone, is due to appear in court on Thursday on a charge of conspiracy to murder.
