Benue: Abducted students of agric varsity regain freedom

The abducted students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, have regained freedom.

This was disclosed in a short statement released by the Director, Information, Protocol and Public Relations of the University, Mrs. Rosemary Waku, on Tuesday.

The released students are identified as Israel Farren Kwaghgee and Solomon Salihu.

The director did not state if a ransom was paid before the release of the students.

The Kidnappers had earlier contacted one of the parents of the students and demanded N20 million ransom.

Spokesperson of the state Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the release of the students.

“Kidnapped students of the University of Agriculture have been released unhurt. Investigation into the case continues please,” Anene had said in the statement.
