FRSC PLANS PROACTIVE MEASURES TO EVADE CRASHES DURING THE EMBER MONTHS

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) discloses its plan to launch a special road operation code named ‘KILL THE SPEED’, from September to December, the popular ember months.

The South-South Zonal Commanding Officer of the Commission, Yakubu Attah, revealing the motive behind the tag, said in Port Harcourt that the operation was in order to reduce road crashes especially in areas prone to accident.

The Commanding Officer while expressing the Commission’s determination to ensure that sanity was observe by road users throughout the ember months, said bad roads such as the Idukpani-Uyo, East-West, and Elele-Isiokpo roads would be given priority attention for the safety of both passengers and drivers.

The commander noted that drivers would be warned to adhere strictly to the acceptable speed limit, stressing that whoever erred would be penalised to serve as example to other motorists.
