Tuesday 16 November 2021: Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has said that Gernot Rohr’s men are focused on taking three points off Cape Verde in their FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday evening.

Musa said nothing has changed because the Super Eagles will be going for maximum points against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Nigeria is leading Group C with 12 pints and needs just a point to seal their passage, while Cape Verde has 10 points and needs a victory to scale through.

Speaking ahead of the game, Musa, who is the most capped player in the history of Nigerian football, said the Super Eagles won’t be playing for a draw against Cape Verde.

“The FIFA World Cup is the biggest stage for every professional football player. They all want to be there; you don’t need any more motivation than that,” Musa said at his pre-match press conference at the team’s Eko Hotel and Suites base on Monday afternoon.

”We said after the match with Liberia in Tangier on Saturday that we will not be going for a draw against Cape Verde. Nothing has changed.”

The kick-off time for the match is 5 pm.
