Monday, 29 November 2021: A three-story building at 85 Ladipo Street, by Fatai Atere Road, Ladipo Market, Mushin, Lagos, is on fire.

The fire according to the spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, started at about 11.00 p.m. on Sunday and has continued as at the time of filing this report.

Although NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, State Fire and Federal Fire Services, and the police have been on the ground, the security fortification of the building is said to be obstructing access to it.

The building is said to be of safety concern already.

The building is said to be housing assorted Toyota auto spare parts.

It was gathered that the fire started at a furniture workshop behind the building with electrical sparks at about 10:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The sparks were said to have eventually led to a fire outbreak and spread to the three-story building.

No casualty has been recorded and efforts to put out the fire are ongoing.
