The Deputy National President of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, (FOBTOB), Comrade Adebayo Aderogba, has joined the good people of Ibadan Indegenes, Oyo State government, Council of Chiefs, Royal family in mourning the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso I on Sunday.
The Labour leader who is also an indigene of Ibadanland and strong member of Omo Ajorosun in a message made available to CEOAFRICA said the first class Monarch was a great king, his death is a great loss to people of Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
He described the late Olubadan as visionary with purposeful leadership while on the throne.
According to the statement, “Oba Adetunji was known for his consistent in promoting peaceful and harmonious co-existence, had respect for religions and diverse cultures in the state and country as whole.
“Oba Adetunji had successfully carried on with the legacies of his forefathers, dating back to the 16th century, with an intentional focus to uphold the beautiful traditions of hospitality, respect for authorities and communal development that has always defined the throne.
“He was a wonderful, excellent king who stood by with tradition during his time. He did not allow anyone to torpedo the Ibadan hierarchical succession plan of ascending the throne”.
He extolled the Imperial Majesty for his maturity and wise counsels to leaders and indigenes alike, counseling the younger generation on the path of good education and entrepreneurship.
