Nigerian military battled with ISWAP elements in Gwoza town for nearly four hours, the battle has resulted to heavy casualties on the side of the suspected members of the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, a faction of Boko Haram.

CEO Africa gathered that the attack by ISWAP elements was coming less than 24 hours after 121 of the terrorists surrendered to the Nigerian troops in Gwoza, one of the 27 local government areas in Borno State and a former Boko Haram Caliphate.
