Mohamed Salah scored a goal and set up another as Egypt beat Morocco 2-1 to reach AFCON semi-finals in Cameroon on Sunday.

The Egyptians came from behind to knockout Morocco in the much anticipated quarter-final match.

Morocco opened scoring from the penalty spot on seven minutes through Sofiane Boufal.

Boufal put the ball into the top right hand corner, giving goalkeeper Gabaski no chance.

Salah equalised for Egypt on 53 minutes.

The strike simply tapped home from close range after the rebound fell into his path.

The match ended 1-1 on duration time, which necessitated an extra-time.

Trezeguet put Egypt into the lead on 100 minutes after an assist from Salah.

Salah slipped the ball to Trezeguet, who simply steered it home from close range to make it 2-1.

On extra-time added time, Egypt nearly made it 3-1 from a counter while the Moroccan goal keeper was at the Egyptian box.

Salah picked up the ball in space and from inside the penalty area sent a shot inches wide of the right post.

Egypt will now play host Cameroon in the semi-final match on Wednesday.
