The convoy of UN experts’ convoy investigating suspected chemical weapon crises in Syria, were attacked by unknown snipers in the country’s capital, Damascus.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that  one of the cars was shot several times, forcing the convoy to turn back, but the UN promised to continue with the investigation immediately the damaged vehicle is replaced.

Meanwhile, the government of Syria had blamed opposition terrorists for the attack, although the validity of the statement could not be ascertained.

It was reported that hundreds of people died in an attack near Damascus, and US said there was little doubt Syrian forces used chemical weapons in the attacks which claimed more than 300 lives in rebel-held areas.

In his reaction to the supposed allegation, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the allegation is an insult to common sense and warned the US against military intervention.

"If someone is dreaming of making Syria a puppet of the West, then this will not happen," he said.
