Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed several persons during an attack on the newly constructed Abia cattle market in Omumauzor in the Ukwa West local Area of Abia State.

It was learnt that the attack which occurred on Tuesday night, kept the villagers apprehensive.

Meanwhile, security operatives have taken over the area to maintain peace.

The Abia State Government recently moved traders from Ahia Udele cattle market to Omumauzor following a fatal truck accident in the area.
