Former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Idris Ichalla Wada has denied media report that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the newly launched political group, The National Movement, TNM, founded by Senator Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso from Kano State.

Wada attended the launch of the group in Abuja on Tuesday, fueling speculations about his membership.

The Aviator however clarified that he was at the event as a guest.

Wada, who lost second term governorship bid to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in November, 2015 election said he remains a strong member of the PDP.

Senator Kwankwaso, a two governor of Kano State floated the party and launched it in Abuja on Tuesday as a third force ahead of 2023 general election.

Captain Wada’s media minders said, the ex-governor was worried when the report of his attendance was misinterpreted in the media.

According to them, they contacted the Kogi State PDP Executive to confirm if Captain Wada has left the party and now a member of TNM as well as the ex-governor who denied saying: ”I am not a member of TNM, I attended as guest, am still a bonafide member of the great umbrella body, the PDP.”

Kogi State PDP treasurer, Barr. Alfred Bello was also quoted to have said, “it was a good development for the PDP”, while he boasted that the party remains unshaken.

He asked members to disregard the mention of H.E Capt.
