Liberia Vice President hosts Sehwah Liberia founder, pledges to support SRDC Pan African library project

The Liberian Vice President, H.E. Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor, hosted Sehwah Liberia Founder and Chief Executive Officer , Madam Louise Siaway, in her office on April 19th, 2022.

During the closed door meeting that lasted for two hours,, the VP commended the empowerment scheme of Sehwah Liberia and pledged to support the Pan African library building in collaboration with Sehwah Liberia Incorporated and Sixth Region Diaspora Caucus (SRDC) to enhance reading culture in the country.

In a telephone chat with CEOAFRICA, the Founder of Sehwah Liberia, Madam Louise, disclosed that the Vice President remarked that she has heard much of the good works of Sehwah Liberia, and therefore signified her intention to pay a working visit to Sehwah Liberia Incorporated office on May 3rd, 2022.

According to her, “the Vice President of Liberia, H.E. Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor, invited me to her office to inquire about the progress made in the public library project and the details of

what needs to be put in place toward building the public library soon in Liberia.”

“More importantly, the VP has proposed an official working visit to Sehwah office on May 3rd, 2022 and also tour some farms projects in the four counties. Further more in their discussion, the VP expressed her interest and commitment to working with us to help facilitate the awesome goals of Sehwah Liberia Incorporated and SRDC International for Liberia.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sehwah Liberia Incorporated, Madam Louise, uncovered the programmes in plan to distribute books to 13 government high schools to help ensure that the students do well in WAEC exams, to provide Maisha Washington Education Foundation Scholarship to government high schools students for grade 9th , 10th , 11th and 12th.

“In 15 counties, 230 students had been identified for the pilot programme for the purposes of future employees of the Liberia Pan African library and cultural center in Liberia. So also, Sehwah Liberia Inc. /SRDC office to provide mini community library, mini community computers learning center, Internet access, e- librarys and many others.” She added

Additionally, the founder said that there is plan in place for women, youth, adolescent girls – adult literacy and others to build their capacity.

“Sehwah agriculture projects in four counties has 4200 acres of land called Kwa Plaa, and 5000 women as a beneficial, was also discussed during the visit.
