Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state was conspicuously absent at the PDP secretariat where the party's Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, this afternoon announced Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate in the 2023 Presidential election.
Governor Wike was a strong contender in the race for the VP slot.
While Atiku got 371 votes during during the party's primaries,  Wike obtain 237 votes.
His name alongside Okowa and Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom were submitted to Atiku for selection.
