The former national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Senator Victor Umeh who defected to Labour Party three weeks ago has said that he has no regret defecting from his former party because the action was inevitable.
Umeh who shared his thoughts with journalists at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) media chat on Tuesday in Awka said when it became obvious that some people ganged up against him in a grand conspiracy to stop him from contesting in the election it became inevitable that he should leave the party he was a foundation member.
He also said that his leaving the party was the wish of God because in everything God guides the steps of every one’s destiny.
Umeh said that his defection offered him the opportunity to mend fences with his brother Peter Obi which got soared10 years ago.
“My acceptance with Obi was historic and opportunity to reconcile with my brother”.
He predicted that the 10th Senate will be turbulent with the because “the future of Nigeria will be discussed in the 10th Senate. Everything that will make Nigeria work is needed”.
Earlier in his speech the chairman of NUJ Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu described Umeh as a friend of Journalists.

Umeh described Labour Party Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi as the best candidate in the race. He said: “My joy is that Nigerians from all shades of life and opinions chose Peter Obi as the best candidate.
We must all contribute our quota to make it work. “Peter Obi is a revolution. He is the best. Peter Obi is not a career politician”.
