The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has called for calm.
He spoke after the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja rejected his bail application.
The Biafra agitator had filed a fresh application seeking his release on bail pending the determination of the treasonable felony charge the Federal Government preferred against him but the case was dismissed when it came up for hearing on Tuesday.
Kanu, speaking within the court premises said he wants the entire region to remain peaceful, pointing out that he is fighting to defend the people and not kill them.
Despite the outcome of Tuesday’s court case, the IPOB leader vowed that he and his team would not relent until victory is achieved.
In his words, “It is what we expect. But I want our people to be very calm. I want Biafranland to be calm, calm, and very peaceful. We are fighting to defend our people, not to kill them.
“We are fighting to defend them, that’s why I’m here. And we will continue to do so until we get victory.”
