The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has kicked off in earnest it 5-Day Annual Scientific Conference in Festival Hotel, Festac, Lagos. The 41st Annual Scientific Conference started at 9:00AM with an Opening Thanksgiving Mass at the Catholic Church of Nativity, Festac, which had many members in attendance in colourful Ankara attires.
The theme of the conference is: Never Waste a Crisis: Community Pharmacists Learning for the Preparedness. The choice of the theme is believed to have been largely influence by the Covid 19 experience which caught everyone, including medical personnel unaware and unprepared. The conference is therefore expected to build a robust synergy among pharmacists to be prepared in event of future occurrence of such or similar epidemic outbreak.
The National Chairman , Prince Pharmacist Wale Oladigbolu led the Association’s National Executive Council into crucial meeting with member representatives across the country. Among them are: the current Chairman, Pharm. Adewale Aderemi Oladigbolu; National Secretary, Pharm. Eze Igwekanma, Chairperson, Planning Committee, Pharm (Mrs) Esom-Ibe Agbomma; Pharm. Ajadi Bridget, the National Vice Chairman Pharm. Kenneth Ujah, National Publicity Secretary; Pharm. Babatunde Samuel, Pharm. Okwor Kenneth, National Internal Auditor; Pharm. Giwa Babajide Editor in Chjef and other NEC members .
Also present at the conference is the vaccination technical training team from the United State; which also have Dr. Lere Baale, CEO Business School of Netherlands (BSN); and Dr. Samuel Adekola, immediate past Chairman of ACPN and other team members were seen in final meeting for the next day vaccination training of over 200 members of ACPN.
Other expected guests include the keynote speaker, Dr Falsal Shualb, ED/CEO, NPHCDA; Chief Host Prof. Cyril Usifor FPSN, President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria; Pharm. (Hon) Gboluga Ikengbolu, Member, Federal House of Representative. He is the chairman, opening ceremony of the conference. The Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Sanwo - Olu is also expected to grace the occasion.
