Raw talents to be discovered as colleges hold games in Ibadan

It is another opportunity for youths and students, across the country, to benefit from one of the most employment-providing sectors of every economy across the globe, sports, as the 2022 edition of Nigerian Colleges of Agriculture and other Related Discipline Games (NICARDGA), tagged ‘Ibadan 2022’, kicks off.

The organizers, in a statement sent to CEOAFRICA on Saturday, September 10, 2022, said that preparations are being made to ensure a hitch-free sports and athletics.

The event will feature many sporting events; such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, scrabble, chess among others, for both male and female athletes.

They added that the event, which will take place from 13th to 27th November, 2022, will be held at Federal Cooperate College, Federal College of Agriculture and Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, all in Ibadan, with about 30 colleges of agriculture participating in the sporting activities.

Speaking with CEOAFRICA, the Provost of Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo expressed confidence that NICARDGA will discover young talents that can represent Nigeria in sports within and outside Africa.

Owosibo further expressed optimism that the games would further help to divert the youths’ attention from all social vices into productive event like sports.

He expressed confidence that the games would boost the economy of Oyo State, stating that people, who will come for the sporting events, both as participants and as partners, will take advantage of various products and opportunities that are available in the ancient city of Ibadan during and after games.
