The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of N28.1 billion for the augmentation of road and other infrastructural projects in Wasa District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Minister of the FCT, Mohammed Bello who disclosed this during an interview with Newsmen noted that the augmentation is as a result of inflation that has taken over the initial approval of N56 billion for the Wasa District projects.
Bello said the total amount for the projects is N85 billion and the projects are to be completed within 42 months.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, also disclosed that the Council has approved the sum of N2.044 billion for the construction of internal roads and facilities at the Gas Hub in Bayelsa State.
Sylva further stated that the Port Harcourt Refinery will be completed to resume production by December 2022.
However, in his remark the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, described the recent disruption of traffic along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by the members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) as unhelpful and insensitive,
Fashola noted the Government recognises the right of civil protest but will be concerned if the students inflict punishment or pain on ordinary Nigerians going about their lawful businesses.
