Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the auction of 134 vehicles belonging to traffic violators by the Lagos State government.
Recall that the state government had on Thursday auctioned the vehicles impounded at the Lagos State Taskforce compound in Alausa, Ikeja, over several traffic offenses.
This action led to an uproar on social media as Nigerians were against such hard punishment for traffic offenders.
According to Sani in a tweet via his official Twitter account on Sunday, the state government should have fined the traffic offenders instead of auctioning their vehicles.
He wrote,, “Auctioning the vehicles of those who violated traffic laws is too harsh.
“Why not fine them.”
