Fire guts building of 8 rooms, 15 shops in Kwara

The Kwara State Fire Service has said that property worth N3.2m was destroyed in a fire disaster.
A residential building situated along the Sobi Road, behind U-Sanda Filling Station in Ilorin East Local Government Area, Ilorin, Kwara State was razed down by fire on Sunday.
The Spokesman of State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday in Ilorin.
Adekunle said the building comprises eight rooms and 15 shops, but only two shops were affected by the ravaging inferno.
The Spokesman noted that the quick intervention of the Kwara State Fire Service saved the building from destruction by the fire.
According to him, the fire was generated from the piled beverage cans kept inside a room in the building and later spread to the shops.
The total estimated property saved is N36.8 million.
The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa in his remarks warned the residents of the State against bad housekeeping.
