President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday commiserated with to the government and people of India following reports that a British-era bridge in Gujarat’s Morbi collapsed on Sunday evening, resulting to the death of at least 141 people.
It was reported that 177 out of 500 have been saved and teams are searching for several others who are still missing.
This was disclosed in a statement by Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
The president said; “On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I wish to express my profound sorrow and sincere sympathy to the Prime Minister, families of the deceased, and the people of India following this tragic incident.”
Buhari further prayed for quick recovery for those injured.
