The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Monday, vowed to support the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, with logistics for his campaign in the State.
CEOAFRICA had reported that Wike invited Kwankwaso to inaugurate the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in Emohua Local Government Area of the State.
Wike during his address said Kwankwaso is a friend and a man of integrity.
Recall that the Rivers Governor had also pledged to support the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, with logistics for his campaign in the state, after describing Obi as a man that had all the characteristics to lead Nigeria.
Wike said; “I remember when I went to meet you in your house in Abuja to plead with you not to leave the party (PDP) because I knew you were an asset to the party. Even when they told me to leave you alone, I refused.’’
“I have known you and I know you are a man of integrity so I want to say that whenever you want to campaign in Rivers State, I will provide you with all your logistics, just let me know when you want to come.”
On the project, Wike boasted that the road construction flagged off June 2021 and that it was completed four months ago, adding that he had more projects to be commissioned soon.’’
“We just commissioned the ninth flyover last week and we will commission the 10th before the end of the year. We will also commission the 11th and 12th flyover next year.’’
“I said I will turn turn Emuoha around, have i not done it? I brought the best construction company in Nigeria to construct this road.”
For months crisis have rocked the PDP as Wike and the G5 governors have demanded the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, emphasising that both the National Chairman and Presidential candidate cannot emerge from the same region.
