The Armed Forces of Nigeria has read the riot act to terrorists and bandits with a notice that the military has activated its war mode to end all insurgency in the country.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, shared updates on the activities of the military in the past two weeks, while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
Buba announced the neutralisation of two terrorists and the arrest of others, adding that the offensive posture indicated by ongoing operations of the military would cause the perpetrators of the challenges to reconsider their position.
The recently deployed Defence spokesman also addressed the recent destruction of a vessel arrested with stolen crude onboard, insisting that the punitive action was in line with extant military laws.
On the sidelines, the Director, Defence Information, Major Gen. Tukur Gusau, clarified the recent retirement of some senior military officers in line with military hierarchy.
The Armed Forces are currently engaged in nine different operations across the country, with operational theatres within the six geopolitical zones to address the numerous security challenges, he added.
