The Akwa Ibom State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirants’ forum, G22, yesterday, denied media reports and online platforms claiming that the forum had a meeting with the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday.

A statement by Nsima Ekere, said the reports which indicated that the purported meeting was at the instance of an APC governor, were not only false but unfounded.

Ekere said that the G22 dissociates itself from the publications, adding that it had at no time contemplated such interaction.

He said that the G22 members were resolutely committed to pursuing their cause through the internal conflict resolution mechanisms of the PDP.

Ekere said: “We believe in the capacity of the leader of our party, President Goodluck Jonathan, and the National Working Committee (NWC) of our party to amicably resolve the political impasse in our state.”
