NMA VOLUNTEERS TO RECTIFY THE NATURE OF GOVERNOR SUNTAI’S HEALTH

The Nigeria Medical Association has volunteered to take up the health issue of Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba State to ascertain the actual state of his fitness.

CEOAFRICA news desk learnt from the statement of the medical association that a board of medical professionals will be set up to determine the fitness in order to put an end to the controversies surrounding the Taraba State Governor's  health.

This resolution was made after a National Executive Council meeting in Sokoto, with the theme “Promoting Medical Check-ups as key to preventing sudden deaths”.

Moreover, a statement by NMA President, Dr. Osahon Enabulele and Secretary-General, Dr. Akpufuoma Pemu, revealed that the medical association was concerned of the apprehension and embarrassment staged by the fitness situation of the State Governor.

Meanwhile, the association is also calling on the Federal Government and National Assembly to establish the Office of the Surgeon-General of the Federation which would be charged with the responsibility of independently assessing the medical fitness of public and political office holders
