Rivers State Government provided automatic jobs for the 36 Russian-trained medical doctors who just got back to their hometown of Rivers state.

CEOAFRICA news correspondence gathered that the fortune which greeted these medical practitioners was as a result of the massive investments made in the health sector by Governor Rotimi‘s  administration which is currently building 160 healthcare centres out of which 60 has been commissioned.

The State commissioner for education who said the doctors would be handed over to the Ministry of Health for immediate engagement for Housemanship, disclosed that Rivers State is expanding its healthcare delivery system, building primary, secondary and territory hospitals around the state.

Richard Ofuru, Permanent Secretary to the State Ministry of Education, said it was good that the doctors came back to take up jobs in the healthcare system to avoid the state having to go elsewhere looking for doctors.

He however urged that the fortunate doctors should maintain merit system in their work since they were products of merit in order to contribute immensely to the well being of the country at large.
