Rain of commendations, applause for Dr Owosibo at 50th Anniversary Reunion of FCAH&PT 72/74 set

Dr. Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, the Provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Oyo State, was highly commended at the recently held 50th Anniversary Reunion of the 1972/1974 set of the College.

The 72/74 set appreciated lauded the Provost for his landmark achievements in the College and also welcoming them, giving them full support and ensuring the success of reunion.

President of the set, Hon. Prince Oreoluwa Fabunmi who could not hide his joy while stating his congratulations on achieving the reality of the reunion, applauded the management and staff of the institution for keeping the flags flying and continuing the good work.

In his vote of thanks, the initiator of the reunion, Chief Leke Dada who expressed his joy for the fulfilment of the memorable day, stressed that since they discussed their plans with the school management, the Provost was up and running to ensure a hitch-free event.

Chief Dada also disclosed that their initial plan was to just gather, eat and drink at one of the old classrooms of their day, but Dr. Owosibo ensured they had a befitting venue that added colour to their exciting and memorable experience.

In his remarks, the National President of the Alumni body of the College, Pastor Femi Lumpkin, appreciated God on behalf of the celebrants, appreciated the management and Provost of the college, who according to him, have made a lot of things to happen in the college.

Lumpkin challenging the set to go round and see the improvements going on in the campus, said that “you are our daddies. I want you to take it upon yourselves to find out the progress of the college concerning the alumni body.”

Registrar of the college, Mr. Nathaniel Adeolu Jolaiya while congratulating the reuniting class, noted the efforts of the Provost in ensuring a warm welcome and successful reunion exercise. Jolaiya affirmed the testimonies about Owosibo as true.

It will be recalled that at the 60th anniversary of the college held earlier this year, some of the landmark achievements of Owosibo in terms of infrastructure were commissioned by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security in Nigeria, Honourable Abubakar Kyari represented by the South West  Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mrs Olayinka Akeredolu. Some of the commissioned projects include the College Administrative block, College Medical Center, New Staff Office Building, Diamond Jubilee Classroom Complex, and Farmhouse at Bakatari Entrepreneurship Center.

In the area of academics, the college under Owosibo has newly accredited programmes including, Agribusiness, HND Computer Science and Statistics, HND Biology/Microbiology, HND Physics/Electronics, HND Chemistry/Biochemistry, HND SLT/Environmental Biology Pasture and Range Management.

Among the many achievements recorded during his administration, the College Provost is popularly called “bulldozer” among the staff and students, for his undying determination to get things done even when they seem impossible.
