CEOAFRICA gathered that Djibouti Electric (EDD) and Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) have agreed to jointly evaluate the construction of a 60-megawatt wind farm in Djibouti.

Speaking after the signing a memorandum of understanding with QPI Chief Executive Officer Nasser al Jaideh, the EDD Director-General Djama Ali Guelleh said this new agreement is a clear milestone that will open a new era of co-operation between Republic of Djibouti and the State of Qatar, as explained by the Djibouti Information Agency.

Djibouti is working to expand its reliance on renewable energy, including wind farms and geothermal energy.
