Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has indicated his preference for Senator Aliyu Wadada as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made this known during a meeting with political appointees at the Government House in Lafia, signaling early moves within the ruling party as preparations for the next election cycle gather momentum.

Senator Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West in the 10th Senate, recently defected from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the APC. His defection is widely seen as part of his ambition to contest the state’s governorship under the platform of the ruling party.

The development underscores the growing political realignments in the state as key stakeholders position themselves for the 2027 elections.
