CEOAFRICA sports desk gathered from Russia that Super Eagles Winger, Ahmed Musa, has been voted the best CSKA Mocow Player for the month of August, 2013.

Musa got 41.4% of votes casts by fans of the club and came first ahead of captain and goalkeeper Igor Akifeev who placed second with 34% of votes.

He was duly rewarded for his superlative performance in the month by scoring five goals in seven league games and winning two Man of the Match Awards in the same month. He got goals against Amkar Perm, Kuban Krasnodar and Tom Tomsk.

Speaking about the award, Ahmed Musa said he is aiming to win the highest goal scorer award at the end of the season after he helped Nigeria to a 2-0 victory over Malawi last Saturday.

“My ambition this season is to become the leading scorer. Already I have five goals and I will score more by God’s grace,” he said.

Last season, Musa got 11 goals for the Russian Champions in 28 league matches.

Musa moved from Kano Pillars in Nigerian League to join VVV Venlo in the Dutch league before joining CSKA Moscow, having won the highest goals corer award with 18 goals in 2010 NPL Season.
