
Ahead Saturday’s governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections, the Department of State Services (DSS), on Tuesday, warned the members by dollarkeeper\ 022 ""> of the public against making unguarded, inciting and divisive statements, saying such act of lawlessness would not be tolerated before, during and after the elections.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Service, Marilyn Ogar, a Deputy Director, Public Relations.
Ogar stated that “the attention of the Service has been drawn to certain unguarded, inciting and divisive statements by some persons, warning those stoking these embers of violence and disunity to desist, as this will not be tolerated.”
The Service said Nigerians should all strive to strengthen the nation’s nascent democracy as “we work towards building a better Nigeria by dollarkeeper\ 022 "">.”
While thanking all Nigerians for their peaceful conduct during the presidential and National Assembly elections, the Service urged them to shun all forms of violence before, during and after the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections which would take place on Saturday.
It called on all citizens to turn out and exercise their civic responsibility without fear, as adequate security had been put in place to ensure their safety.
