Rwanda's President, Paul Kagame
From Rwanda, report reaching the news desk of CEOAFRICA is that the ruling RPF party has won the just concluded parliamentary elections securing 76% of vote cast.
40 out of 53 seats were won by the President Kagame-led Party which has been at the helm of affairs since 19994 genocide ended.
However, there was grenade attack two days ago in Kigali, and it claimed two lives. No group has claimed to be responsible for the attack.
The Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) government has been praised for maintaining stability and overseeing rapid economic growth since the slaughter of some 800,000 minority ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus.
But President Kagame has been increasingly accused of ignoring human rights and stamping out any opposition.
The RPF has kept its parliamentary majority but lost two seats.
