Nigerian Striker, Obafemi Martins
Fresh facts have emerged that Nigeria striker, Obafemi Martins will triple his earnings at his new Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua.
Martins was on $3 million a year at Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders, but after he has paid tax, he took home about $2 million.
The former Inter Milan striker hit a goldmine in China as he will earn $6.6 million at the club for the 2016 season, according to Steve Goff of the Washington Post.
The Chinese club also paid Seattle $2 million for his transfer.
‘Oba’, as he is called in the United States of America (USA) in the Major League Soccer (MLS), has since joined his new club in pre-season training ahead of the new season in China.
Martins who featured at the 2010 World Cup has has also played for Levante (Spain), Wolfsburg (Germany), Newcastle United, Birmingham City (England) and Rubin Kazan (Russia).
