Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi says he is focused on presenting quality team at 2014 World Cup.Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has dismissed the recent FIFA monthly ranking which sees the Eagles occupy number four in Africa and 37 in the world.

Keshi who is currently with the Super Eagles Team B in their Abuja camp preparing for the CAF African Nations Championship holding in South Africa next year, told Complete Sports that his focus is on how to present a quality team that will represent the country well at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

“To me, the FIFA ranking is just to let countries know how far or how well they’ve done in the outgoing month, which is now left for the countries to either step up or consolidate on their effort”, begins the former Togo and Mali national teams’ manager.

“My focus is not on the ranking, I will not allow it to distract us because our plan is to make sure we present a formidable team for Nigeria who will put up a good showing in Brazil next year. So for me, I am not bothered about the ranking.”

It would be recalled that the Eagles were ranked number five in the world prior to the FIFA World Cup in 1994 in the United States of America.Eagles are in group F with two-time World Cup champions Argentina, Iran and debutants Bosnia-Herzegovina.They will take on Iran in their first game, followed by Bosnia before rounding off with Argentina.
