It is evident that the Not Too Young To Run bill sponsored by Hon. Tony Nwulu, a PDP member from Lagos State, approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 31, 2018 will immensely contribute to the growth of Nigeria because presenting a young candidate will give the youth a sense of belonging in the affairs of this great nation and it has also paved way for Nigeria youths to contribute their quotas for the betterment of Nigeria.

The Age Reduction Bill popularly known as Not Too Young To Run bill is a constitutional amendment movement led by young Nigerians which seeks to reduce the age of running for elective positions for House of Assembly and House of Representatives from 30 year old to 25 year old, Senate and Governorship from 35 year old to 30 year old and office of the president from 40 to 30 and independent candidature in Nigeria.

The Ibadan renowned property business magnate as well as the founder of Akin Fagbemi Foundation, Mogaji Dr. Akintomide Fagbemi has officially declared his intention to contest for Oyo Central Senatorial District under the platform of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

The Ibadan philanthropist,Dr. Akin Fagbemi during an exclusive interview with CEOAfrica on Sunday disclosed that he is ready to serve the people of Oyo State at the Red Chamber representing the good people of Oyo Central senatorial district. He lauded the current leaders of PDP and affirmed his confidence in the party.

“I believe in leadership and commitment. I strongly believe that PDP will look for credibility before choosing any of his aspirants, I have served in the civil service for 12 years, I have been a Union leader and I have a PHD in Biotechnology and I am sure the State would love to share from my wealth of experience, so I am ready to serve the people of Oyo state.

People have been longing for a change and the change is PDP under the leadership of Senator Adewolu Ladoja.What we are into now is winning all the way and I am very sure that people of Oyo State will be happy under our leadership.”

It is a good thing for Oyo State and PDP that youth like Dr. Akin Fagbemi is vying for senator under Oyo Central District, the future looks promising.
