The president of historical society of Nigeria (HSN), Professor Christopher B.N Ogbogbo said that his inaugural lecture is his academic report card.
He made this known in an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA on Wednesday, 8th August, 2018 at the University of Ibadan.
“Inaugural lecture in an university system is an opportunity for an academic who has reached the peak of his profession to give a report card to his employer and the general public”, Prof. Ogbogbo stated.
He further stressed that he decided to choose the topic “IN DEFENCE OF TRADITION” as it would encapsulate the essence of his scholarship from the past three decades he has been in the University of Ibadan and other Universities where he has engaged in considerable academic activities.
Following the question about the mystery behind the topic “IN DEFENCE OF TRADITION”, Professor Ogbogbo stated that he would on the 6th of September, 2018 at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan, unearth the mystery behind it.
He therefore enjoined everyone to make it a date.
